Bit of the Devil

From the mournful cry of Robert Lighthouse's guitar to the soulful wail of Roger Edsall's harp, the Washington, DC metro area has an incredible amount of musical talent.

You can find Blues being played at the Zoo Bar, Madam's Organ, Chick Hall's Surf Club, JV's, Half-Moon BBQ, Archie's Barber Shop, and many more joints hidden amidst the office buildings, monuments, and suburban shopping centers.

These musicians play from their hearts with plenty of soul -- and a bit of the devil.

Bad Influence Band
You just gotta get up and dance!
They can play it all, from vintage Blues to original songs. Mike Tash wails on guitar, Bob Mallardi's vocals are a flask of smooth whiskey, Jay Corder's sax tugs at your heart, and Roger Edsall's the best harp player on the Atlantic seaboard -- bar none!

Mary Ann Redmond
A voice as smooth as a baby's bottom; with the depth and breadth of every R&B singer you've ever heard. I could listen to Mary all day.

Robert Lighthouse
The Mississippi courses through his veins. Jimi and Stevie drive his heart. Son House and Blind Willie Johnson inhabit his soul. Catch his acoustic solo show at Chief Ike's Mambo Room on a Wednesday night -- then experience his electric powered tidal wave when he is joined by his band.
