Alvin 'Youngblood' Hart is Howlin Wolf with spice.
This man truely loves music and performing. He plays the Surf Club cause he knows it a musician's joint -- not some swarmy Georgetown style excuse for a performance hall. It was standing room only when he stepped on stage -- and the crowd kept growing the longer he played. No doubt the folks up the road in University Park were tapping their toes.
Youngblood, the 1997 W. C. Handy Award for Best New Artist and winner of two Living Blues awards, rocked the house with a mix of traditional blues, refined Piedmont blues, and some screamers from his latest album "Motivational Speaker".
His voice was thick and guitars were oozing more tone than a Delta sunset in August.
